Geology

A GIS raster layer of geology digitized from a map at a scale of 1:100,000 (see Chapter 4 for details). The layer is provided in Idrisi (GEOLOGY-IDRISI.ZIP) and GeoTIFF (GEOLOGY-GEOTIFF.ZIP) formats. Cell values are as follows:

• 0=territory outside the survey area
• 1=Holocene sediments (mostly water-transported, including gravel and scree)
• 2=Pleistocene sediments (mostly aeolian loess but also sand and lake sediments)
• 3=Tertiary and Cretaceous sandstone and mudstone
• 4=Cretaceous and Jurassic volcanic rock
• 5=Archaic (Precambrian) metamorphic rock
• 6=Jurassic porphyry
• 7=Jurassic granite
• 8=Lowland alluvium
